The US$5.1 billion project is on track to open in Q1 2027
Wynn Resorts has confirmed that construction work on Wynn Al Marjan Island, its US$5.1 billion integrated resort under development in Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, has resumed following a short pause. The update comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, as the US-Israeli conflict with Iran continues to impact tourism across parts of the GCC.
The Las Vegas-headquartered group said it has implemented precautionary measures to ensure the safety and security of all personnel on site, with Wynn employees given the option to “work from abroad if their home embassy recommends they do so”.
Wynn Resorts said its Design and Development team, responsible for the project’s architecture and design, and the resort executive team, overseeing operational strategy and planning, have continued to make steady progress since the conflict began on 28 February.
“The company continues to be in regular communication with the governments of the United States and Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, so that we can make informed decisions. The Company believes the broad defence posture of the UAE has worked extremely well, and we have confidence in the UAE’s ability to keep its population safe,” Wynn Resorts said in a statement.

“We note that for broad segments of the local population, business continues to follow normal patterns,” it added. “We will continue to closely monitor the situation; any additional impacts on the project will be assessed in due course.”
The operator, which received the UAE’s first commercial gaming licence in 2024, is developing the destination resort as part of Ras Al Khaimah’s broader tourism diversification strategy. Wynn Al Marjan Island is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
Currently in the recruitment phase, the resort aims to employ 3,000 team members by late 2026, with hundreds of positions already filled. Construction milestones continue to advance, with the 305-metre hotel tower now topped out and more than 80% of the façade completed. Structural work on all 1,530 guest rooms and suites is finished, alongside 99% completion of low-rise structures.
Set across more than 60 hectares, Wynn Al Marjan Island will feature a 70-storey luxury hotel comprising 1,217 resort rooms, 297 Enclave Suites, two Royal Apartments, four Garden Townhomes and 10 Marina Estates. The resort will offer 22 restaurants and bars, a beach club, spa, 12 pools, a deep-water marina, a theatre, and the region’s first gaming facility.
