Brach Madrid marks the first foray in Spain for the boutique brand born in Paris. Housed in a 1920s building, the seven-storey property on the city’s Gran Via has been reimagined by architect Philippe Starck, with a design inspired by the 1920s and 30s. There are 57 rooms and suites decorated in wood, leather, terracotta and earthenware, all with palatial bathrooms, some with private terraces. There’s a leafy rooftop terrace overlooking downtown, a cocktail bar, patisserie and restaurant serving pan-Mediterranean cuisine, plus a spa with a 20-metre-long pool, a float tank, ice bath and the only hyperbaric chamber in a Madrid hotel.
