DXB braced for Eid Al Fitr influx

This week and next, Dubai International (DXB) is expecting to see an estimated 3.6 million guests as the week-long Eid Al-Fitr holiday (from Monday 8 to Friday 12 April) coincides with spring break.

During this period, daily traffic at the airport is set to exceed 258,000 guests on average, with particularly busy weekends forecasted. Saturday 13 April is expected to be the busiest day over this period, with total guest numbers soaring to 292,000.

DXB has shared some tips for travellers to help them navigate the busy peak, advising Emirates passengers to use the airline’s home, early and self check-in facilities, including city check-in options.

Flydubai passengers are advised to arrive at least four hours prior to departure, while guests flying with other airlines should aim to arrive at DXB no earlier than three hours before their scheduled departure time, utilising online check-in where available.

Travellers are also advised to use the Dubai Metro to get to and from the airport as well as between Terminals 1 and 3 in case of congestion on the roads.

Access to the arrivals’ forecourts in both Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and authorised airport vehicles only. Visitors picking up guests should utilise DXB’s designated car parks or valet services.
