The Maldives launches its first multi-island leisure destination

Crossroads is home 18 restaurants and bars, and three resorts, including SO/ Maldives

Crossroads Maldives is a new multi-island leisure destination, comprising three resorts, a 30-berth quay, restaurants, bars, spas, retail outlets and service providers offering excursions and kids activities.

This ambitious nine-island project is set among the South Malé Atoll and Emboodhoo Lagoon, just a 15 minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport.

The concept is inspired by the Maldives’ maritime history and designed in the spirit of an island village where travellers can rest, recharge and reconnect.

The resorts on the development include SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and Ennismore's SO/ Maldives, which officially opened on 23 March 2024, marking the completion of Crossroads Maldives.

SO/ Maldives

The most luxurious of the accommodations, So/ Maldives is set on an idyllic private island and features a collection of 80 beachfront and over-water villas, each with a private pool and deck offering panoramic views of the turquoise Emboodhoo Lagoon.

The premium resort is also home to a wellness camp and state-of-the-art spa, plus Lazuli, a bohemian beach club offering a poolside dining menu, cocktails and laidback beats from sunrise to sunset.

Guests at the resorts have easy access to the the shared facilities at Crossroads Maldives, which are centred around a marina.

There's an 800 metre beach lined with cafes and upmarket boutiques, a beach club, a 30-berth quay and a kids' club.

Adventure seekers can head to the watersports and dive centre to try their hand at jet skiing, flyboarding, paddleboarding, kitesurfing, or even a course at the five star PADI school.

Those looking to learn about the rich heritage of the archipelago can head to the Maldives Discovery Centre and Marine Discovery Centre, dedicated to protecting the Maldives’ precious underwater ecosystems through initiatives like coral propagation and breeding programmes.

The Marina is available not just to Crossroads guests but all Maldives tourists, with complimentary transfers to and from Malé city and airport for any visitors not staying at the resorts.
