The 5.4-square-mile island resort in the South Pacific features 25 standalone residences
Como Hotels & Resorts has expanded its collection of private islands with the addition of Como Laucala Island in Fiji in December 2021.
The island resort is set in the South Pacific, a bucket-list destination for luxury travellers, with 25 standalone residences spread across private beaches and a backdrop of blue lagoons and volcanic mountains.
Residences have been built with natural Fijian wood in a typical South Pacific-style and each come with a private pool and a Como butler.
The island has its own private airstrip and is accessed by a 45-minute private air charter from Fiji’s Nadi International Airport
The resort is also home to a tropical 18-hole David McLay Kidd-designed golf course, a first for the brand, and it offers a wide range of land and water facilities and activities, including a fleet of jet-skis, sailing and game fishing boats, jet and diving boats, horse-riding, mountain biking, nature hikes and tennis.
The island’s wellness centre, Como Shambhala Retreat, provides spa treatments using local herbs, spices, flowers and fruits. There’s also a studio for yoga and fitness classes.
Five dining options incorporate the brand’s farm-to-table philosophy using fresh produce from the resort’s 240-acre farm.
The resort farm cultivates organic crops and livestock, including chickens, quail and Wagyu cattle
Fresh seafood supplies are sourced exclusively from local fisherman, and menus include Como Shambhala wellness dishes, which are high in nutrition and low in fats and refined sugars.
Como Hotels & Resorts operates a total of 14 properties across Asia-Pacific, the Americas and Europe. The brand’s other private island resorts include Como Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos and Como Maalifushi in the Maldives.
