Pandaw unveils details of new India river cruise

Nine-night itinerary includes two nights in Kolkata

Pandaw will operate a new itinerary on the Hooghly River from October 2025.

The 18-cabin Kalaw Pandaw will sail a nine-night round-trip from Kolkata to Baranagar on India’s most sacred rivers, including the Ganges.

With multiple airlines in the Gulf flying direct to Kolkata, including FlyDubai and Air Arabia, transfers are easy to arrange and take around four to five hours.

Sister to the Kindat and identical in design, the Kalaw was launched at the same time in 2014. She is named after the PS Kalaw launched in 1917 and sunk in 1942 in the War.

The ultra-light ship combines one of the shallowest drafts on the river with one of the highest passenger-space ratios afloat.

Passengers are offered Bistro-style dining with outside and air-conditioned indoor seating, part-buffet breakfasts and lunches, and seated themed dinners, with lean and light menu options, complimentary local mineral water, coffee, tea and premium wines.

A series of cultural performances, educational talks, cooking classes and a ship tour are part of the entertainment programme.
