Royal Caribbean promises ‘best of all vacations’ when Star of the Seas joins fleet

Cruise line's third giant ship to sail from Florida in August 2025

Fresh details have emerged about Royal Caribbean International’s latest mega ship Star of the Seas.

The 5,610-passenger vessel will reflect many of the features introduced on sister vessel Icon of the Seas, which entered service in January 2024.

Star of the Seas will operate seven-day Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral in Florida from 31 August 2025.

Two planned earlier sailings were cancelled due to an anticipated delay in the delivery of the ship.

Royal Caribbean will offer three-, four- and seven-night cruises from Florida on Icon, Star and recently introduced Oasis class vessel Utopia of the Seas. All will call at the company’s Perfect Day at CocoCay private island in The Bahamas.

The second Icon class vessel will see some features tweaked, including the introduction of the 1930s Chicago-inspired Lincoln Park Supper Club in place of the Empire Supper Club.

The majority of onboard experiences will be similar, including six waterslides, seven pools, eight neighbourhoods and more than 40 places to eat and drink across the 20 deck ship.

Royal Caribbean International president and chief executive Michael Bayley said: “Star of the Seas is the second bold act of this exciting, new era of vacations first introduced with Icon of the Seas, and it’s putting the world’s best vacation on the map at yet another top travel destination.

“Between Miami and Port Canaveral, more adventurers than ever can set their sights on the only vacation that combines the best of all vacations – from the beach retreat to the resort escape and the theme park adventure – with experiences that have and will continue to make headlines and memories for years to come.”
