The new hotel occupies an 18th century building that served as the former residence of the Duke of Santo Mauro
Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid is located in the district of Chamberí, close to cultural attractions including the Sorolla Museum, Teatros del Canal, and Andén 0 Metro Station, an exhibition space in a restored tube station.
The 18th-century building has been fully renovated by renowned interior designer Lorenzo Castillo
Open since December, the hotel features 49 guests rooms, including 10 suites overlooking the gardens. Rooms have been refreshed with natural materials such as stone, marble and wood, with furnishings of leather, midnight blue velvet and silk.
Dining and imbibing options include flagship restaurant La Biblioteca, run by acclaimed chef Rafael Peña; relaxed outdoor terrace El Garden, ands El Bar for cocktails and snacks.
Guests can also enjoy communal spaces such as the Georgian English Library, The Chinese Lounge and the indoor pool.
A new spa and fitness area will debut as part of the second phase of the renovations, set to commence in summer 2022
