​​Saudi Arabia’s Shangri-La Jeddah appoints new GM

Brice Lunot brings 30 years’ experience in luxury hospitality

Seasoned hospitality professional Brice Lunot has been appointed General Manager for the Shangri-La Jeddah in Saudi. 

Opening its five-star doors on the Jeddah corniche in 2022, Shangri-La’s debut property in the kingdom features 220 rooms and suites spread across a 65-storey tower, with balconies overlooking the Red Sea and the F1 Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

A seasoned professional with more than 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, Lunot brings a wealth of expertise to the position, having started his career with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in 2019.

He has held a number of GM roles with the group, at properties in Mauritius, the Maldives and Oman, most recently serving as Acting General Manager at Shangri-La’s flagship property on the Red Sea, where he demonstrated “outstanding leadership, commitment and expertise”.

Chosen not just for his deep understanding of the brand, but also his “dedication to excellence”, Lunot plans to drive operational success, enhance the hotel guest experience and reinforce the property's presence in the region.

Prior to the Shangri-La, Lucot spent eleven years at LUX Resorts & Hotels where he led operations at LUX Grand Gaube in Mauritius, and also held managerial roles at Le Méridien properties in Paris, Tahiti and Bora Bora.

Shangri-La has 104 hotels and resorts in 76 destinations worldwide. Alongside a significant footprint in Asia, the group continues to roll out properties in gateway cities around the world and has six across the Middle East, three in Dubai, two in Oman and one in Saudi Arabia. 

Having entered Saudi in 2021, the group is exploring new projects, with plans to build two resort-style properties, one on the kingdom’s Red Sea coast and one in Riyadh. 

Responsible for driving growth across the Middle East region, Christian Pertl was recently appointed Vice President of Commercial MEIA (Middle East, India, Indian Ocean, Europe, and the Americas (MEIA) region.
