Accor grows Middle East portfolio with Mövenpick Living & Residences Cairo

Property will feature 150 serviced apartments and 40 branded residences

Hospitality group Accor is expanding its footprint in Egypt with the opening of Mövenpick Living & Residences in Cairo through a partnership with Al Bourouj Misr Development.

Al Bourouj Misr Development vice-chairman Mohamed Assy said: “It is with great pride that we announce the inking of a partnership with Mövenpick for one of the foremost iconic real estate projects by our company.

“Our collaboration with Accor is a continuation to the company’s commitment of working hand in hand with reputed international brands to redefine the lifestyle of the new capital.

In addition to the rooms, the property will feature four F&B outlets, a Mövenpick Lounge and Pool Bar as well as a fitness centre, spa and Little Birds Club.

Mark Willis, Accor’s CEO for India, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa, added: “This is a very exciting project for Accor in Egypt. This addition will introduce a unique offering to the New Capital City of Cairo, providing residents and travellers with a new home with the luxury of hotel services.”

The new Mövenpick Living & Residences will be located in the New Capital City (NCC). NCC is located 45 kilometres east of Cairo, in an area about half the size of the seaport of Suez. It will be home to a new international airport and linked to Cairo by a new intercity metro line. 

Accor currently operates 34 properties in Egypt with 29 in the pipeline.
