Healthcare spending surpasses US$280.4 million

According to a report released by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the emirate welcomed more than 691,000 international health tourists in 2023, a significant increase from the 674,000 in 2022.

In line with the increase in international health tourists, healthcare spending in Dubai has also increased, surpassing US$280.4 million in 2023, compared to US$270 million in 2022.

Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the DHA, attributed the sector’s success to Dubai’s service quality, advanced healthcare technologies and competitive pricing.

The surge in health tourism aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economy and enhance its status as a leading hub for business, investment and tourism.
