Corporate travel bookings surge in Dubai ahead of GITEX Global

October event has drawn 187,000 registered attendees

There has been a significant increase in corporate travel bookings in the lead-up to this year’s GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) event in Dubai, according to online travel platform EaseMyTrip.

The 44th edition GITEX Global – the biggest tech and startup show in the world – has 187,000 registered attendees from 180 participating countries in 2024, a considerable increase from last year’s 170,000 attendees from 170 nations.

Top inbound markets for the event are India, the UK, China, Saudi Arabia and Germany.

According to the team at EaseMyTrip, most corporate travellers who attend GITEX Global opt for high-end accommodations – four- and five-star hotels – within close proximity to the Dubai World Trade Centre venue.

Taking place from 14 to 18 October at Dubai World Trade Centre, the five-day event is seeing business travellers booking an average of seven or eight nights stay, allowing time for pre-event and post-event engagements and leisure pursuits, as the bleisure (mixing business and leisure) travel trend continues.

EaseMyTrip co-founder Rikant Pittie said: ""With GITEX underway in Dubai, we’ve observed a positive impact on travel trends. Over the past few months, queries have surged for corporate bookings towards the event dates through EaseMyTrip, and enquiries are being made for an average of five to six people from each company for the event.

“The influx of industry leaders, tech giants and investors has significantly boosted travel demand, reinforcing Dubai's status as a pivotal destination for global tech and business gatherings, giving a significant boost to MICE tourism."
