Crown & Champa Resorts to relaunch Veligandu Maldives in November

Bookings made before 31 August will have a 40% discount

In its 25th year in business, Maldivian hospitality group Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) has announced the opening of its latest luxury retreat, the reimagined Veligandu Maldives Resort Island in the North Ari Atoll.

Established in 1984 as one of the Maldives’ pioneering resorts, Veligandu has undergone an extensive renovations and is on target to welcome guests from November 2024.

All stays at Veligandu Maldives booked before 31 August 2024 will benefit from a 40% discount, allowing a villa for two people, inclusive of breakfast, to be booked from as little as US$550 per night.

Just 20 minutes by seaplane or an hour by speedboat from Malé International Airport, the resort is open to guests of all ages.

Ocean Pool Villa

The 100-room property has 47 Ocean Pool villas and 28 Ocean villas (10 of which have private jacuzzis), as well as 16 Jacuzzi Beach Villas and nine Beach Villas. Each villa has a king-size bed, private porch, and a 55- or 65- inch flat-screen TV.

The North Ari Atoll has 18 dive sites catering to divers of all levels and Veligandu’s Ocean Dive centre offers custom-made courses tailored to all guests. Snorkelling and diving excursions will also provide guests the opportunity to encounter the diverse marine life of the North Ari Atoll including sea turtles, manta rays, and eagle rays. The resort is also just 10 minutes from Big Blue Point, the most likely place for Hammerhead Shark sightings.

An in-house biologist will be on hand to share a deeper understanding of the underwater world while contributing to the conservation of the coral reefs and marine ecosystems.

The resort’s ocean water sports and excursions centre also gives guests the opportunity to jet ski, parasail, kayak and paddleboard. Veligandu is also the second resort in the Maldives to have its own pickleball court.

For those with relaxation in mind, Veligandu has its own overwater Himeyn Spa with an extensive treatment programme and yoga pavilion.
