VFS Global highlights a shift in traveller sentiment towards convenience over cost of visa applications

Demand for at-home visa services among travellers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has surged 20% in the first half of 2024, according to visa service provider VFS Global.

An outsourcing and technology specialist, VFS Global operates Visa at Your Doorstep, which provides visa application services at applicants' homes or offices.

The process sees trained professionals visit the applicant’s preferred location to accept the documents and enrol biometrics.

Globally, at-home visa services have previously been popular among corporate and student groups, providing convenience to those applying for a higher number of co-passengers.

More recently, a shift towards families and individual travellers using the service has been the trend among Middle East travellers, according to VFS Global.

The company noted that customers in Dubai are leading the demand in the UAE, where the service is available for travel to Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine and UK visa services.

VFS Global Regional Head Monaz Billimoria said: "The Visa At your Doorstep service witnessed an uptick in demand during the pandemic because of health and safety precautions, but today’s growing trend of families and individuals opting for Visa At Your Doorstep shows a shift in the traveller sentiment towards comfort and convenience over cost."
