Dubai Tourism partners with Hyatt to boost UAE city’s global appeal

Collaboration to focus on marketing, exclusive events and tailored experiences

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has partnered with Hyatt hotels in Dubai to promote the city to new global audiences.

With a shared commitment to boosting tourism, the collaboration will see both parties roll out creative marketing campaigns, host exclusive events and offer tailored experiences for travellers.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (pictured) said the collaboration aligned with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to make Dubai the "best city to visit, live and work in".

The partnership will see Hyatt hotels in Dubai participate in DET-led initiatives, including hosting familiarisation (FAM) trips, study programmes and high-profile events designed to attract international visitors.

What's more, they will support DET’s promotional campaigns, including flash sales, exhibitions and roadshows, and receive reciprocal marketing assistance for upcoming projects such as the launch of the new Grand Hyatt Dubai Waterpark, which is set to make its debut in 2025.

Special emphasis will be placed on leveraging popular influencers or key opinion leaders (KOLs) and creating engaging content to amplify reach and impact.

Commenting on the partnership, Fathi Khogaly, Area Vice President of Hyatt Hotels in Dubai (pictured), said: “Dubai’s remarkable growth as a global tourism and hospitality hub has been instrumental to Hyatt’s success in the region."

Hyatt opened its first hotel in Dubai in 1980 and has since expanded to 10 hotels across the city. It also has three properties in Abu Dhabi.

Hyatt's portfolio across Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME) consists of more than 200 properties and 45,000 keys in more than 40 countries, with plans to expand into 13 new markets across the region by 2028.

Saudi Arabia is a focus for the group, with plans to triple its number of hotel rooms by 2030 and open three new properties by 2026 – Hyatt Place AlUla, Grand Hyatt The Red Sea, and Miraval The Red Sea.

The Group is also looking to strengthen its position in the lifestyle hospitality segment across the region with 14 new lifestyle hotels set to open by 2027. This includes an Andaz property in Magna, NEOM’s coastal destination, marking Hyatt’s debut in the lifestyle segments in Saudi.
