Haute couture-inspired Amassi redefines traditional Iftar experience
Dubai's luxury hospitality scene is set to reach new heights this Ramadan with the unveiling of Amassi, the region’s first haute couture-inspired marquee tent at One&Only One Za'abeel.
This innovative concept, a collaboration between One&Only Za’abeel and Moroccan-French designer Selma Benomar, promises to redefine the traditional Ramadan experience.
Amassi, meaning ‘the time from afternoon to sunset or midnight’ in Arabic, will showcase a unique blend of Moroccan heritage and the cosmopolitan spirit of Dubai.
Rooted in Moroccan artistry, the tent's design will feature intricate embroidery, rich textures and luxurious materials, hallmarks of Benomar's acclaimed fashion house.
Since 2012, the Dubai-based fashion brand has created meticulously handcrafted Moroccan caftans that celebrate the Arab woman’s identity
“When designing Amassi, I envisioned it as an extension of my brand, a space where Moroccan heritage and modernity coexist beautifully,” said Benomar.
“Working with One&Only One Za’abeel has allowed me to create something extraordinary, where haute couture techniques celebrate the hotel's artistic spirit and visionary design. I want every guest to feel as though they are being welcomed into a luxurious home steeped in warmth and hospitality.”

Whether enjoying iftar or suhoor, guests at Amassi can expect majestic arches dressed with shimmering fabrics, cascading chandeliers and handcrafted elements such as embroidered walls and custom cushions created by skilled Moroccan artisans.
The furniture features sumptuous velvet and raw silk paired with sleek marble and wood finishes. Meanwhile, the colour palette – anchored in trending tones like mocha and terracotta – evokes the timeless elegance of Moroccan architecture, integrating with the modern design of One&Only One Za’abeel.
Every detail, from the custom-made scent of the interiors to the tactile richness of the fabrics, have been meticulously curated to transport guests on a journey of the senses.
Benomar added: “I believe that when fashion, architecture, and art come together, they create something truly unforgettable. This tent is not just a dining space; it will be a sensory experience that celebrates the spirit of Ramadan and the shared values of connection and beauty.”
Complementing the tent’s visual artistry will be a specially curated Ramadan culinary experience, with eight cooking stations and a signature ouzi dish, and live oriental music performances.
