Now open, Dragonfly is a Reif Othman collaboration

New Japanese restaurant Dragonfly is now welcoming diners at The Lana Promenade, a new F&B complex operating alongside The Lana Dorchester Collection, Dubai hotel.

The fine dining restaurant, which is part of the Bulldozer Group, is a collaboration between Dragonfly founder Alexander Orlov and renowned chef Reif Othman, with the kitchen led by chef Vladimir Kim.

Guests can expect a menu that “combines traditional Japanese flavours with innovative culinary techniques”.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "In Japanese culture, dragonflies symbolise transformation and renewal. This spirit of metamorphosis is embedded in Dragonfly's concept, where each course represents a journey of flavours, celebrating the beauty of evolution in dining.

"The menu unfolds like a vibrant exploration, reminiscent of an Asian market, offering an array of tastes... the briny sweetness of sea urchin to the zesty brightness of yuzu, the smoky allure of charred miso, the invigorating bite of shiso leaves, and the savoury richness of miso and soy."

Dragonfly's signature creations include Beijing duck, and the 'Bikini Sandwich', crowned with otoro tuna belly and black caviar, and duck gyoza. Sake and shochu will also be on the menu.

"Reflecting Dragonfly’s spirited ambience, the extensive sake and shochu options, totalling over 80 varieties, set the stage for what will become UAE’s largest collection, accompanied by a sake sommelier to guide guests through this impressive selection with expertly paired recommendations, the spokesperson added.

According to the source, Dragonfly also boasts one of the widest ranges of Japanese whisky in the region.
