Mandarin Oriental to open luxury resort in Bali

Located on the southern Bukit Peninsula, the hotel is set to launch in 2027

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has unveiled plans to open a luxury resort and private residences on Bali’s southern coast.

Scheduled to open in 2027, Mandarin Oriental, Bali will occupy a cliffside plateau of elevated terraces, taking pride of place on Bali’s Bukit peninsula is an area predominantly known for its dramatic coastline, white sandy beaches and imposing cliff-tops.

Transfers to the hotel from Bali’s Ngurah Rai international airport will take around 30 minutes. Also within half an hour's drive are the popular tourist destinations of Jimbaran, Uluwatu and Sanur.

Guests can expect panoramic views of the Indian Ocean’s clear waters, with direct access to a secluded beach, infinity pools and cliff-edge dining as well as a selection of wellness experiences.

The planned 110 suites and villas will be designed to be in tune with the surroundings, offering private terraces or gardens, and most will have private pools.

Dining experiences will include a cliff-edge restaurant and bar, a Chinese restaurant, a speakeasy bar, and a beach club, all of which will serve Indonesian and international cuisine.

A sprawling cliff-front lawn is set to become the backdrop for weddings and events.

Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa programmes will include specifically developed treatments inspired by Balinese traditions and customs, as well as heat and water therapies. Additional wellness facilities include an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by cabanas, a fitness centre with an outdoor space for yoga, tennis and padel courts and water sports at the beach club.

Other facilities include a dedicated kids' club, an organic garden and a sustainability lab, and golfers can book a round at the nearby Bukit Pandawa Golf Course.

The project is a collaboration with local real estate developer Harmoni Bali.
