Contemporary iftar dishes have been inspired by the fragrance house's perfumes
Oman's mountaintop Alila Jabal Akhdar resort is once again hosting a seasonal Amouage Café.
Running until the end of Ramadan, the cliffside culinary concept invites visitors to have an Amouage-themed iftar at the resort during holy month.
Founded in 1983, Amouage is Oman's leading perfumery and the traditional iftar menu gives a playful nod to the the fragrance house's updated Secret Garden fragrance collection.
Dishes include paplou (Omani fish soup) with Omani rock lobster, shorba with fresh chicken and almonds, chicken samosa with mint yoghurt, and Omani halwa with saffron and cardamom.
Curated by Amouage and prepared by Alila’s chefs, the menu is presented on a card designed by Omani illustrator and conceptual artist Ruqaiya Mazar, and captures what Ramadan means to her with artwork centred on spiritual introspection and self-reflection.
