Bhavesh Rawal brings 25 years of hospitality expertise to all-villa luxury resort

Saudi Arabia’s Banya Tree AlUla has appointed Bhavesh Rawal as its new General Manager.

With more than 25 years of luxury hospitality experience in the Middle East and Canada, Rawal brings a wealth of expertise in leadership, strategic growth and delivering great guest experiences.

The former chef has held multiple roles at Dubai properties including Burj Al Arab, Grand Hyatt, Madinat Jumeirah and JW Marriott, and his knowledge of F&B operations has shaped his leadership style.

In his most recent leadership position at Marriott International, Rawal managed a portfolio of 1,280 rooms across Dubai, increasing profitability while enhancing operational efficiency.

At Banyan Tree AlUla, Rawal will oversee daily operations, financial performance and strategic alignment.

Commenting on his appointment, Rawal said: “AlUla is a remarkable place with a rich heritage and vibrant cultural calendar, and I’m eager to contribute to the resort’s growth within the context of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. 

"With AlUla becoming a key cultural hub, my focus will be on elevating Banyan Tree AlUla’s offerings, ensuring guests experience the perfect blend of luxury, culture, and sustainability.”

The all-villa resort has 47 luxury tented villas and is located in one of the world’s most exciting new destinations, a desert sanctuary that draws on design elements from ancient Nabataean heritage.

Villas range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom, with many having private pools as well as Ashar Valley desert and mountain views. 

The three-bedroom pool villa spans 240 square metres, has a spacious living area and a 10-seater dining table. There is also an infinity rock pool, the Banyan Tree Spa, and two fine-dining outlets.

Banyan Tree celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024, and the brand has a sister property in Dubai.

Banyan Group continues its growth strategy with another 15 hotel and resort openings planned in 2025, including five new branded residence developments and a number of firsts for the brand.

Founded in Singapore in 1994, Banyan Group will open its 100th resort in April 2025 back where it all began. Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree will be the Group’s first resort in Singapore.
