Saudi Arabian hotel Habitas AlUla has unveiled plans to celebrate Earth Day on April 22 in a way which seeks to educate people about the importance of creating a healthy, sustainable habitat for humans and wildlife alike.

The property, located in Ashar Valley, north-western Saudi Arabia, says Earth Day is not only a day to raise awareness around critical environmental issues but also to create regenerative action plans in aid of thenatural world.

Along with nature walks and meditation sessions, Habitas AlUla Earth Day 2022 activities include a locally inspired, plant-based Earth Day menu, served at Habitas AlUla’s restaurant, Tama. The hotel says the restaurant acts as a gathering place, using sustainable agricultural methods to take guests on a culinary journey.

Ingredients are sourced from local farms in communities surrounding AlUla, with the intention of bringing seasonal, fresh flavours to the table.

There will also be a documentary screening to inspire and communicate the property’s sustainable ethos through storytelling. An open-air screening of One Strange Rock will be held at the Desert Arts Club and will explore the many ways that life flourishes on Earth.
