The travel company recorded US$138 million in sales

Independent travel company Travel Counsellors has announced its best January on record, reaching US$138 million in sales.

The growth in revenue represents an increase of 50% compared to the same month pre-pandemic, and a 65% improvement on pre-pandemic performance since the start of the financial year on 1 November 2022.

In January, eight out of 10 of Travel Counsellors recorded their biggest sales days in the company's 28-year history, with the final day of the month seeing the company have its best ever sales day on record totalling US$7.8 million.

Travel Counsellors CEO Steve Byrne said: “These outstanding results are testament to the very special people we have in our community and the care they give to customers, especially during the pandemic, and the reputation we have forged in providing trusted travel advice.

“January has been a month of records being broken, but more so, highlighting the power of our community and the ways in which we can support one another to look after customers and achieve such growth."

Byrne noted that around half of our Travel Counsellors are now working in teams, a concept the company continues to build on and support using its online platform, which has enabled associates to collaborate, and share expertise and knowledge to become even more successful.

“We are seeing customers truly valuing their holiday and the importance of connecting face-to-face, booking with someone they can trust and who will be there for them throughout their journey,” added Byrne.

Last year Travel Counsellors UAE achieved a record-breaking US$ 21.7 million in sales and grew to 75 franchisees locally. This year the company will be investing US$13.6 million into its bespoke technology.

Travel Counsellors UAE was established in 2012 and is a joint venture with Dnata.
