UAE-based Emirates opens its largest international airport lounge in Thailand

UAE-based Emirates opens its largest international airport lounge in Thailand

Airline is the leading carrier of premium-class travellers in the Thai capital

Emirates First and Business Class customers and Skyward Gold members now have access to a new lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand.

The lounge is the airline’s biggest after the one in its hub in Dubai.

Lounge amenities include local and international food and drinks, comfortable seating with a view of the runway, showers, free wifi and wireless charging.

The US$5 million refit means the 1,454-square-metre lounge can now welcome up to 250 guests, equivalent to all premium passengers on two A3800 flights.

Increased demand in Bangkok has driven the expansion of the lounge facilities, with Emirates one of the first airlines to move to the airport’s new SAT-1 Terminal. The lounge is located on the fourth floor, just five minutes from the boarding gates.

Skywards Gold members travelling in Economy have access to Business Class Lounges around the world, while Silver members can enter Business Class Lounges in Dubai.

Emirates operates 41 lounges, including seven at Dubai International airport, and the new Bangkok facility emphasises the importance of operations in Thailand.

The airline operates five daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok, double daily flights to Phuket and a daily service between Bangkok and Hong Kong.

In total, Emirates offers more than 870 First and Business Class seats daily to and from Bangkok, making it the leading airline for luxury travel to the city. On top of that, the Thai capital is the airline’s second highest destination for First and Business Class seat capacity, after London.

Thailand welcomed more than 35 million international tourists in 2024, surpassing the government's target, and with the 2025 season of The White Lotus set to draw even more attention to the country, it’s expected to see a further 63% increase in visitor numbers between 2024 and 2030.
