UAE's Marriott Marquis Dubai appoints new GM

Fredrik Reinisch brings two decades of global hospitality experience

Marriott Marquis Dubai, Jewel of the Creek has appointed Fredrik Reinisch as General Manager.

Reinisch, a hospitality veteran with more than 20 years' experience, has been part of the Marriott International team since September 2023. 

Prior to this, he held senior positions with globally renowned hospitality brands in the UK, Seychelles, Sweden and the UAE, including as GM at The Dubai Edition and at JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort. He also has extensive experience managing multiple well-known hotels in Dubai, including Al Habtoor City and Habtoor Grand Resort. 

In his new role, Reinisch will oversee daily operations, with a focus on driving revenue growth.

“The hotel is entering an exciting phase, and I am eager to build on its reputation for excellence by working with our talented team to create unforgettable experiences for our guests,” said Reinisch.

He will work alongside seasoned radio professional Steven Johnston, who joins Marriott Marquis Dubai as the new Entertainment Officer.

Responsible for expanding the hotel’s entertainment offerings, Johnston arrives from Abu Dhabi’s Yas Plaza, where he managed various entertainment initiatives. 

He brings vast experience in establishing radio stations all over the world, including in the UAE. He served as Head of Programming at Gulf News Broadcasting, overseeing Radio 1 and Radio 2 in Dubai and launched the first English-language CHR station in the emirates, and co-owned online streaming radio stations in Ras Al Khaimah and Thailand.

Opened in March 2024, Marriott Marquis Dubai is located in Jewel of the Creek, a development situated in the heart of Dubai’s historic Creek area, a stone’s throw from Dubai’s financial district. 

Spread across four towers, the property comprises 434 rooms and 156 service apartments, an outdoor pool overlooking Dubai Creek, three restaurants, a gym and an extensive spa with Hammams, steam rooms and saunas.
