Luxury tour company makes first foray into the Middle East market

UK-based Wayfairer Travel has added Oman to its portfolio of destinations, marking the company’s first foray into the Middle East.

The introduction of the new products addresses increased demand for luxury travel experiences in Oman from the UK market.

Wayfairer Travel’s new Oman itineraries aim to introduce travellers to the breadth and depth of the country, with activities ranging from Bedouin desert experiences to turtle migration spotting along its shores.

Tours cover the capital city of Muscat, where English-speaking guides introduce iconic landmarks such as the Sultan’s Palace and Royal Opera House, as well as uncovering vibrant souks and grand mosques.

Further inland, Wayfairer Travel invites guests to discover Jebel Akhdar, which translates as Green Mountain, overlooking a spectacular landscape of dramatic peaks, gorges and wadis.

From March to April, visitors have the opportunity to see Damask roses in full bloom across the mountainous region, enjoying hikes in mild temperatures and stopping to see rose water distillation in local villager’s homes.

Moving further off the beaten track, itineraries can be tailored to offer a glimpse into the life of Bedouins in the desert of Sharqiya Sands, with camping, dune bashing, camel trekking and star gazing included.

Alternatively, the wadis of Oman, from the verdant oasis of Wadi Shaband to the emerald waters of Wadi Bani Khalid, offer further opportunities to hike and explore the natural teal lagoons.

Travellers also have access to a 24-hour concierge charged with handling all arrangements, spanning accommodations, transport, experiences and service standards.

Wayfairer Travel CEO, Jason Stevens said: “With Bedouin heritage, rich archaeology history and vibrant souk culture, Wayfairer itineraries will open the door to off-the-beaten-track nomadic regions and unconventional cultural experiences.”
