Location is a little-known destination in the Middle East

Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has shared with fans the one place that he recommends everyone in the world should visit, in a video released on his official new YouTube channel.

In March 2024, Cristiano Ronaldo and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez enjoyed a luxurious holiday at the St Regis Red Sea Resort in Saudi Arabia, as he took a break from the country's Al Nassr FC's cup-winning season.

The Red Sea is a luxury tourism destination based on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, and it’s got big ambitions to be the world’s most regenerative tourism project.

In his new video, entitled 'This is how I felt when I discovered paradise', describing the destination as “the magical Red Sea Project”, Ronaldo states that, this year, The Red Sea is the place that has “surprised him a lot”, one which he “recommends the whole world to visit”, calling it an “amazing, amazing place”.

St Regis Red Sea is one of three resorts currently open at The Red Sea destination, with 14 more set to launch between 2024 and 2025, including Marriott's ultra-luxury Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

By 2030, The Red Sea destination will fully complete, with 50 hotels across island and inland sites, luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment venues, restaurants and leisure facilities.

The destination comprises a vast archipelago of more than 90 islands, pristine waters, sweeping desert dunes, rugged mountain canyons, dormant volcanoes, and ancient cultural and heritage sites.

Red Sea Global (RSG) is the developer behind this luxury regenerative tourism destination, which is powered by 100% renewable energy. The Red Sea International Airport, which is accepting both domestic and international flights, will also be completely carbon-neutral when fully operational.

Interest in Saudi Arabia as a tourism destination is growing quickly. Currently 1.2 million tourists travel to the Red Sea coastline each year.
