All-new Premium Economy and Business Class cabins unveiled

Dubai-based airline Emirates has flown the first fully refitted Boeing 777 with a nose-to-tail cabin refresh to Geneva, Switzerland.

The aircraft, which rolled into service four days ahead of schedule, entered refurbishment in early July and took 37 days to revamp, a process that involved the airline’s in-house engineering team spending 10,000 hours gutting, fitting and refurbishing the cabin.

Emirates’ signature ghaf tree motif features prominently throughout the interiors, with a different look in each of four classes of cabin: Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class.

The most significant improvement for passengers is the introduction of a Premium Economy cabin, while Economy and Business Class have both been enhanced.

Economy Class
The new Economy Class cabin features 256 seats in a colour palette of soft greys and blues. The ergonomically designed seats include full leather headrests with flexible side panels that can also be adjusted vertically.

Premium Economy
The aircraft's new Premium Economy cabin consists of 24 seats, in three 2-4-2 configuration rows, upholstered in cream leather with wood panel finishings. The seats are 19.5 inches wide with an 8-inch recline providing more space to stretch out, as well as six-way adjustable headrests.

Business Class
The new Emirates 777 Business Class cabin offers passengers 38 seats with soft leather cream upholstery accented with a champagne trim, lighter wood panelling and improved technology.

Offering greater privacy and direct access to the aisle, rows follow a 1-2-1 configuration, with seats arranged four-abreast. The ergonomic 20.7-inch-wide seats convert into flatbeds that are 78.6 inches in length.

Each seat has a personal mini-bar, a table top for dining or working, and multiple charging outlets for personal devices.

The Emirates Boeing 777 Business Class cabin will also include a small bar where passengers can collect grab-and-go mid-flight snacks and refreshments.

The airline has earmarked 191 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft for a full facelift as part of the largest known retrofit programme the industry has seen in scale and size.
