TJ Joulak brings decades of hospitality experience to new role

Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi has appointed TJ Joulak as general manager. A veteran of the luxury hospitality sector, Joulak has over 25 years of experience in the industry and has worked in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Joulak has previously helmed luxury portfolios in the Shangri-La Group, and is fluent in English, Arabic, French, Italian and Spanish. His multilingual abilities enable him to establish meaningful relationships with guests across several nationalities and backgrounds.

The hospitality veteran has received various accolades during his career, including most recently Best General Manager Europe 2022 and 2023. Joulak also received the Lifetime Julian Star Award in 2022 and was named among the 100 Most Inspirational People in Global Hospitality & Travel 2023 by the International Hospitality Institute.

As a hands-on leader, Joulak will be tasked with further implementing Waldorf Astoria’s service strategy at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.
