Marina property to include more than 1,000 rooms and sky-high infinity pool
Dubai’s role as a city of superlatives continues, with the world’s tallest hotel set to open in Dubai Marina later this year.
The project, which is being developed in partnership with IHG’s Vignette Collection, is nearing completion, according to developers The First Group.
Rising more than 365 metres — nearly matching the height of New York’s Empire State Building — Ciel joins Dubai’s architectural skyline, which already includes the Gevora Hotel, previously the tallest hotel, and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

Ciel will span 82 floors and feature a whopping 1,042 rooms, including 150 suites, plus the world’s highest infinity pool, a sky restaurant and a 12-level atrium garden.
The building, designed by Norr Group, is characterised by geometric lines and uses 12,000 cubic metres of concrete and 2,700 tonnes of steel.
All rooms and suites will have floor-to-ceiling windows offering guests 360-degree views of the Arabian Gulf and Palm Jumeirah. The contemporary, minimalist interiors will use sustainable, natural materials and focus on comfort and maximising views.
There will be three pools, including the crown jewel, the aquamarine infinity pool set on the 76th floor, making it the highest infinity pool in the world. This pool is part of the three-level Tattu Dubai complex, which includes a restaurant, bar and lounge.
Dining at Ciel will be spread across 10 restaurants and bars, including the sky restaurant, which stands at 353 metres.

On the 81st floor, guests will find an open-air observation deck with sweeping city views, and a 12-story vertical sky gardens with a large glass atrium, designed to make the building open and filled with natural light.
Elsewhere, there is a luxury spa offering tailored wellness experiences, a fully equipped gym, executive lounges, boutiques and facilities for families including pools for children.
A spokesperson for The First Group stated, “More than an architectural masterpiece, Ciel is a global icon and The First Group’s largest and most luxurious project to date. Ciel will offer travelers an elevated experience, connecting global guests to the energy and ambition of the city in a wholly new way.”
This year has seen several major hotel openings in Dubai, including Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, a superyacht-inspired property with 386 rooms and suites, which began welcoming guests in March.
Other anticipated openings include the Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai, which will have 259 rooms and suites in the Wasl Tower, as well as Zuha Resort Villas on the World Islands and the Mondrian in Abu Dhabi.
