Stephan Schupbach is promoted as the brand enters new markets

Chedi Hospitality has promoted its CEO, Stephan Schupbach, to President & Group CEO, as the Dubai-headquartered hospitality accelerates global expansion.
Schupbach joined the group in 2023 and led its 2025 rebrand from GHM Hotels to Chedi Hospitality. With more than 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, he has held senior management and partner roles across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
In his new role, Schupbach will oversee Chedi Hospitality’s expansion into new markets, including the launch of a boutique brand and an F&B division for signature culinary concepts. He will also manage the group’s growing hospitality and branded residences portfolio, driving property performance and long-term strategies.

Reflecting on Schupbach’s appointment, the Chairman of Chedi Hospitality’s Board said: “[Schupbach’s] strategic insight, commitment to excellence, and ability to unite teams around a shared purpose have reinforced our momentum globally. We look forward to the next phase of growth under his guidance.”
As part of its regional expansion, Chedi Hospitality is preparing to open two new properties in Saudi Arabia: The Chedi Trojena in Neom, opening in 2028, and The Chedi Wadi Safar in Diriyah Gate. These projects strengthen the group’s Middle East portfolio, which currently spans seven properties across the UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Egypt and Oman.
The group has also enhanced its senior leadership in 2025, naming a new COO and appointing General Managers for Chedi Muscat and Chedi Al Bait in Sharjah.
Internationally, Chedi Hospitality will make its Japan debut with The Chedi Niseko, set to open in June 2029. Located in Hokkaido, the country’s northernmost region, the resort will offer guests alpine experiences such as skiing, hot springs and seasonal activities.
