The Chedi Niseko combines boutique luxury with an alpine setting in Hokkaido
Dubai-based Chedi Hospitality is set to debut in Japan with the launch of The Chedi Niseko, a boutique property in Hokkaido, a mountain destination in the north of Japan known for its volcanic landscapes, national parks and year-round attractions.
This milestone marks Chedi’s return to Asia with its ninth property worldwide and is the group’s third outside of the Middle East.
It also strengthens Chedi’s foothold in the premium alpine hospitality sector following its acclaimed opening in Andermatt, Switzerland, and forthcoming project in Trojena, Saudi Arabia, set to open in a Neom mountain resort in 2026.
Scheduled to open later in June 2029, The Chedi Niseko is located within easy reach of Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport and just steps from Niseko’s world-class ski slopes, offering guests access to powder skiing, hot springs and all-season outdoor activities.
The property will feature design-led alpine accommodations blending Japanese sensibility with the Chedi’s signature aesthetic, and is set to elevate Niseko’s offering while remaining deeply respectful of its setting.
Dining will spotlight contemporary interpretations of Japanese flavours alongside global inspirations, supported by a pre-opening programme of curated seasonal culinary activations.
Facilities will focus on wellness and leisure, tailored for all-season exploration in the Niseko landscape.
