From Kimpton’s debut in Saudi Arabia to Abu Dhabi’s first floating hotel, these are the latest launches
September saw a wave of new hotel openings across the Middle East, Europe and the US.
Highlights included several regional firsts, among them Abu Dhabi’s inaugural floating hotel – a 31-room superyacht – alongside the Middle East debut of the Kimpton brand in Riyadh, Mercure’s entry into Abu Dhabi and the opening of Aloft in Istanbul.
Elsewhere, a number of historic landmarks reopened under new brands with refreshed interiors and services, including Rosewood Chancery in London, set within the Grade II listed former US Embassy, and METT Barcelona, occupying the century-old Gran Hotel La Florida.

Kimpton KAFD Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
