New seasonal routes to link Bahrain with Málaga and Al Alamein
Gulf Air is adding two new summer destinations in 2026, marking the latest expansion of its seasonal network connecting Bahrain to key leisure markets. The new twice-weekly routes will link Manama with Málaga in Spain and Al Alamein on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast, catering to strong regional demand for coastal getaways.
Flights to Málaga will operate from 17 June to 25 September 2026, while services to Al Alamein will run between 18 June and 30 August 2026, both from Bahrain International Airport. Specific flight days and times are yet to be confirmed.
A coastal city in Andalusia, Málaga blends Mediterranean beach life with a rich cultural core, showcasing hilltop castles, an impressive cathedral, traditional markets, lively tapas bars and museums, including one dedicated to Picasso.
Set on the Mediterranean and within easy reach of historic Alexandria, Al Alamein – named Arab Summer Resort Capital for 2025 – offers wide sandy beaches, a growing waterfront dining scene and a town renowned for its World War II heritage sites.
The new routes form part of Gulf Air’s wider summer 2026 leisure-focused expansion and follow the carrier’s recent decision to resume seasonal services to Geneva, Switzerland, and Nice, France, operated via a stop in Milan.
Services to Nice will operate on Thursdays and Sundays from 24 May to 27 September 2026, while flights to Geneva will run on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 June to 11 September.
Beyond seasonal services, Gulf Air continues to expand its network, recently entering the North American market with the launch of its first transatlantic service to New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport on 1 October 2025. The route operates three times weekly with a capacity of 282 passengers per flight.
