Three weekly flights will connect Doha with kingdom’s luxury tourism destination
Qatar Airways will begin flights to Red Sea International (RSI) airport from 21 October 2025, connecting its global network to Saudi Arabia’s ultra-luxury destination The Red Sea.
Flights will depart every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, leaving Hamad International Airport (DOH) at 07:45 and arriving at RSI at 10.45. Return flights will depart RSI at 11.45, arriving at DOH at 14.15.
Home to signature, ultra-luxury resorts including Shebara and Desert Rock, owned and operated by regenerative tourism developer Red Sea Global (RSG), The Red Sea destination has five operational hotels with more opening this year, including properties on Shura Island.
The Red Sea began welcoming guests in 2023, and sister destination AMAALA – which will also be accessed via RSI – remains on track to welcome first guests in 2025.
The Qatar Airways flights will be the second international service to RSI, following Flydubai’s service from the UAE which began in 2024. RSI also has domestic flights from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

RSI will be the 12th destination in Saudi Arabia served by Qatar Airways, with the airport aiming to serve a million passengers per year by 2030.
Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said the addition of The Red Sea route demonstrates the airline’s “dedication to providing diverse destinations that the discerning global traveller demands”.
“As we continue to open more hotels and attractions, this route makes it easier than ever for travellers to experience unparalleled luxury, explore the rich local Saudi culture, and learn about our pioneering regenerative tourism approach,” added John Pagano, Group CEO of RSG.
Shura Island, the heart of The Red Sea, is opening the first of 11 resorts this year, as well as an 18-hole championship golf course, dining and retail options, signature experiences and cultural programming.
Earlier this month, RSG signed an agreement with upcoming airline Riyadh Air to promote luxury tourism in Saudi Arabia.
Qatar Airways, voted the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025, will be the only airline connecting The Red Sea to more than 170 global destinations and operates more than 130 weekly flights across Saudi.
