Weekly services launch on 15 July 2026
Qatar Airways will resume flights to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda from 15 July 2026 as the airline continues rebuilding international connectivity following months of regional aviation disruption.
The carrier will initially operate four weekly flights to both destinations before increasing frequencies to daily services from 1 August. The expansion forms part of its wider summer network strategy, with the airline set to serve more than 160 destinations across six continents during the season.
Helsinki flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH), departing at 08:40 and arriving at Helsinki Airport (HEL) at 15:30. Return flights will leave Helsinki at 17:05 and arrive in Doha shortly after midnight. Additional Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday services will be introduced from 1 August.
The airline is also resuming flights to Tokyo Haneda (HND) alongside its existing Tokyo Narita operations. Haneda services will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 15 July. Flights will depart Doha at 07:50 and arrive in Tokyo shortly after midnight, with return services departing Haneda at 01:35 and arriving in Doha at 06:45.

The latest expansion comes as Qatar Airways continues restoring operational capacity following disruption linked to the Iran war, which triggered airspace restrictions and schedule adjustments across the region earlier this year. The carrier recently resumed daily flights to Dubai and Sharjah as part of its phased network recovery.
Qatar Airways recently extended its flexible booking policy for passengers travelling up to 15 June 2026, allowing travellers to change dates free of charge for rebookings completed before 31 October 2026. The airline first introduced the policy changes in early March for passengers affected by regional disruption.
The carrier previously said it expected to restore services to more than 120 destinations by mid-May as operations stabilise across key international markets.
