Deepak Booneady steps up after three years as Chief Executive Officer
Luxury Maldives-based hospitality brand Sun Siyam has promoted Deepak Booneady to Group Chief Executive Officer, following a successful three-year tenure as CEO.
With nearly three decades of industry experience across the Indian Ocean region, Booneady has held senior leadership roles in the Seychelles, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, including with Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels and LUX* Resorts & Hotels.
Joining Sun Siyam in 2019 as Group Director of Business Development, Booneady has risen through the company ranks, first as Commercial Vice President and later CEO, with his latest appointment marking his third promotion within the group. During his leadership, Booneady has played a key role in elevating guest experiences, strengthening brand positioning and driving strategic growth across the portfolio.
In his new role, he will focus on long-term brand development, guiding the group’s expansion into new markets and further enhancing its international visibility.

Under Booneady’s leadership, Sun Siyam will continue to invest in next-generation resort concepts and champion innovation and experiential hospitality. The group’s Iru Veli property recently hosted an Italian delegation of hospitality students as part of an educational programme showcasing real-world hospitality practices.
Meanwhile, Siyam World Maldives secured a Guinness World Record for ‘The Most People Snorkelling Simultaneously at a Single Venue’ in December 2025, marking another unique addition to the group’s list of accolades.
