Saturday 22 June will be the busiest day
The UAE's Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing to welcome more than 264,000 passengers a day during the Eid Al Adha summer break.
DXB is set welcome more than 3.7 million guests between 12 and 25 June 2024 and Saturday 22 June is expected to be the busiest day with numbers likely to exceed 287,000.
The DXB team's priority is to ensure passengers have a "seamless and enjoyable travel experience". To assist staff in providing this, DXB has issued the following guidelines for travellers planning to transit through the airport in the coming weeks.

DXB EidAl Adha Travel Guidelines
- Emirates passengers can take advantage of the airline’s home, early and self-check-in facilities, including city check-in options.
- FlyDubai passengers are advised to arrive at least four hours prior to departure.
- Passengers flying with other airlines should aim to arrive at DXB no earlier than three hours before their scheduled departure time, utilising online check-in where available to save time.
- Passengers should check their airline's baggage allowance and packing regulations in advance to be sure they comply. Weigh your luggage at home to avoid issues at the airport.
- Passengers can also save time at security screening by being prepared. Metal items – watches, jewellery, mobile phones, laptops, coins and belts – should be ready to be placed in trays for screening. Spare batteries and power banks should also be carried in hand luggage.
- Families with children 12 and above can expedite the passport control process by using Smart Gates.
- Use the Dubai Metro to get to and from the airport and between Terminals 1 and 3 to avoid road congestion. Access to the arrivals’ forecourts in both Terminals 1 and 3 is restricted to public transport and authorised airport vehicles only.
- Finally, farewells should be exchanged at home, as only guests will be permitted inside the terminals during peak periods.
