Akasa Air launches Mumbai-Abu Dhabi flights

Low-cost airline commences daily service this month

Low-cost Indian airline Akasa Air has launched direct flights from Mumbai in India (pictured) to Abu Dhabi in the UAE, kickstarting its new daily service from July 2024.

The flights, which commenced on 11 July, depart Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 5:05pm, arriving at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 6:50pm.

Return flights depart the UAE capital at 8:05pm, landing in Mumbai at 1am (local time).

According to the airline, the service is intended to provide travellers more affordable flight options between India and the UAE.

"We are pleased to commence operations from Abu Dhabi, the fourth international destination on our rapidly growing global network,” said Akasa Air co-founder and Senior Vice President, International, Neelu Khatri.

“The launch of daily direct flights connecting two prominent cities, Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, will provide affordable and convenient options for air travel on the route, and strengthen the air travel links between India and the UAE.”
