Paris’ Little Red Door of the World’s 50 Best Bars will provide ‘farm-to-glass’ drinks
BOCA, Little Red Door bar and The Botanist Gin share the same commitment to supporting local food networks and promoting native, foraged ingredients. Together they will present a multi-course experience, paired with The Botanist cocktails, using ingredients grown and foraged from the UAE.
Little Red Door is a Parisian institution tucked in the discrete Rue Charlot and has been included in the list of the World’s 50 Best Bars for the past seven years. Together with The Botanist brand it will provide mixed drinks for Boca’s two ‘Farm-to-Glass, Farm-to-Plate’ cocktail dinners that place local produce at the heart of the experience.
Tomatoes, beetroots, strawberries and native desert plants will be gathered from farms of the central region of the UAE during a planned day trip. The ingredients will then be showcased by the teams in cocktails and dishes served during the dinners.
BOCA recently published its first carbon footprint report in a bid to make a greater contribution to the fight against climate change. As part of the dinner series, BOCA ‘s sustainability and carbon management consultancy Elementsix will use its knowledge of BOCA ‘s operations and production lifecycle to assess the event’s greenhouse gas emissions against rigorous global accreditation standards. Subsequently, Elementsix will recommend local and regional projects to support to offset the event’s emissions in order for it to become carbon neutral.
