UAE city stands out in European-dominated global search top 10
Dubai has ranked as the world’s third most-Googled travel destination in 2025, according to data from Google’s latest travel search analysis. It was also the only Middle Eastern city to appear in this year’s global top 10 list of most-searched destinations.
The ranking, based on an analysis of destinations with the strongest recent increases in Google travel searches, places Dubai third in a top 10 list largely dominated by European destinations, with Barbados the only other non-European entry, ranked second.
Other most-Googled destinations include four Spanish cities — Bilbao in first place, followed by Santander, Malaga and Ibiza — as well as Krakow, Düsseldorf, Reykjavik and Basel.
Top 10 most-Googled travel destinations in 2025:
1 Bilbao, Spain
2 Barbados, Caribbean
3 Dubai, UAE
4 Santander, Spain
5 Ibiza, Spain
6 Krakow, Poland
7 Malaga, Spain
8 Reykjavik, Iceland
9 Basel, Switzerland
10 Düsseldorf, Germany
While Dubai ranked third worldwide, it was the number one most Googled international destination for Australian travellers in 2025, signalling strong long-haul demand and improving connectivity from Australasia. Visitor arrivals from the region rose 14% year-on-year, making it Dubai’s second-fastest growing source market.

Between January and June 2025, Dubai welcomed 9.88 million international overnight visitors, a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Recent data from ForwardKeys indicates this growth trajectory will position Dubai among the world’s top three travel destinations in Q4 2025, alongside Tokyo and London, supported by a 6% rise in global bookings.
Dubai’s global appeal is further reinforced by new industry accolades. The city was recognised among the ‘best of the best’ destinations in the 2025 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards and ranked within the top five dream destinations for UK travellers, according to a recent Travelbag study.
Complementing these achievements, Dubai’s hospitality sector continues to expand with new, high-profile developments shaping its skyline. In 2025, standout openings included Jumeirah’s superyacht-inspired Marsa Al Arab and Ciel Dubai Marina, now officially recognised as the world’s tallest hotel.
This year too saw the city secure numerous prestigious awards, with Atlantis The Royal achieving the Middle East’s first and only Michelin Three Keys and two restaurants earning the coveted three Michelin stars – FZN by Björn Frantzén and homegrown favourite Trèsind Studio, the world’s first Indian with three stars.
