Emirates adds more UAE-Madagascar flights

Emirates adds more UAE-Madagascar flights

Increased service will operate six times a week

UAE-based Emirates airline is adding extra flights from Dubai in the UAE to Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital.

Starting 2 April 2025, the expanded service will boost flights to the island nation from four to six per week, flying every day except Monday. They will be linked via Mahé in the Seychelles.

This move follows the launch of Emirates’ flights to Madagascar in September 2024, and comes amid increased demand for services between Dubai and the emerging Indian Ocean destination, despite recent weather conditions.

The country is currently in recovery from Tropical Cyclone Dikeledi, which made landfall on 11 January across northern Madagascar. At least three people were killed before Dikeledi downgraded into a tropical storm and departed into the Mozambique Channel.

The UAE-Madagascar flights will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 15:05, arriving in Antananarivo (TNR) at 16.50. The return service will leave TNR at 18:35, landing in DXB at 22:20 local time.

Announcing the expansion of services to the island, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and Indian Ocean said: “We are pleased to boost our services to Madagascar by offering two additional flights per week in line with soaring demand for travel since the start of operations. Our growing flight schedule to the island means better connectivity, more choice and convenient options for travellers.”

Since launching the service in September 2024, Emirates has connected Madagascar to more than 140 destinations worldwide, supporting the island as it looks to reach one million tourists by 2028.
