Emirates airline adds Bogotá to its flight network

Carrier becomes first to offer First Class between Miami and the Columbian capital

Emirates, the national airline of Dubai, has commenced its latest service, connecting passengers to the Columbian capital of Bogotá.

The daily service, via Miami, expands the airline’s South American network to four destinations, with a total of 19 points across the Americas. 

Offering the service on a Boeing 777, Emirates has become the first airline to offer First Class services on the route between Miami and the Columbian capital.

The aircraft has eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat Business Class seats in Business Class and 304 Economy Class seats.


EK213 will departs Dubai at 2:15am daily and arrive in Miami at 10:05am. The flight then departs Miami at 12:05pm, arriving in Bogotá at 2:55pm.

Emirates’ return flight EK214 leaves Bogotá at 5:19pm and arrives in Miami at 10:15pm. The flight then departs Miami at 12:45am the next day arriving in Dubai at 11pm.

Commenting on the new flights to Bogotá, Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ EVP Passenger Sales and Country Management, said: “The addition of Bogotá to our network reinforces our deep commitment to South America and to expanding our reach in this important continent. 

“Bogotá’s status as a key leisure and business destination makes it a gateway we have long wanted to serve, and the new flights will become a conduit to enhance trade flows, improve market access and open pathways for investment across a number of sectors between Colombia and the UAE."

Sergio Paris Mendoza, Director General of Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia, added: “Colombia, the gateway to South America, connects the Middle East via the Bogotá-Miami-Dubai route, operated by Emirates, for the first time. Through Emirates’ services we are delighted to have the opportunity to increase inbound tourism and trade between Colombia and the Middle East.”
