Emirates to launch daily flights to Toronto to meet demand

Additional flights mean a 40% rise in capacity and 2,000 extra seats per week on A380 route

Passengers can now travel on daily flights between Dubai and Canada with two additional flights a week between the two destinations, meaning 2,000 more seats per week.

Though the route has been in place since 2007, daily flights will begin on 20 April 2023 following an expanded air transport agreement between the UAE and Canada, the equivalent of a 40% increase in capacity and a total of 6,800 seats per week.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, said the agreement will boost tourism between the two countries with growing demand for more frequent flights on the A380 route.

“We have been serving customers between Toronto and Dubai since 2007, and although the double-decker A380 aircraft has been operating the route since 2009, demand arising from leisure and corporate travellers, diaspora and students has consistently outstripped the allocated capacity,” he said.

As business and trade ties between the two nations grow, so too does demand for business travel. The Dubai-Toronto route is particularly popular amongst customers from India, UAE, Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka, while the same countries represent top destinations for travellers from Toronto.
