New functionality helps corporates advance their voluntary environmental commitments
Etihad Airways has added a new carbon-offset feature to its Etihad for Business (EYB) platform, giving corporate clients the ability to earn EYB credits and use them to purchase carbon offsets in support of climate action.
The UAE’s national carrier says the initiative builds on its fully digital corporate travel programme, designed to offer businesses an intuitive online portal to manage travel, track spending and access a suite of tailored benefits.
Through a new partnership with sustainability specialist CarbonClick, EYB users can now convert accumulated credits into certified carbon offsets, simplifying the process for businesses to progress their voluntary environmental goals.
Described by the airline as a “practical tool”, the platform integration enables companies to monitor and manage emissions from corporate travel more effectively while taking proactive steps to support climate-positive initiatives.

The EYB platform already allows corporates to streamline their travel programmes, offering a range of benefits including upgrades, priority services, lounge access and excess baggage allowances – now enhanced by the option to purchase carbon offsets.
Upcoming updates to the platform will include automated performance reports, real-time analytics, simplified contract management, and transparent tiering, providing a comprehensive self-service experience for corporate travel management.
Javier Alija, Vice President Global Sales & Distribution at Etihad Airways, said: “Business travel management should be straightforward, not complex. Our portal delivers a seamless, self-service experience that helps corporate clients maximise the value of their travel programmes. This new carbon offset option further supports corporate clients in aligning their travel with their environmental goals.”
The new functionality complements the airline’s wider carbon-offset initiatives, reinforcing its status as the first Gulf carrier to announce a 2050 net-zero target. Other Gulf airlines, including Qatar Airways, Emirates, Gulf Air and Saudia, have also introduced carbon-offset options for travellers and, in some cases, corporate clients, from online offset tools to sustainability-linked programmes.
