Etihad planes landed within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival or departure 83.4% of the time in H1 2023

Ahead of global aviation analytics group OAG revealing the highest on-time performance (OTP) of Middle East airlines, Etihad has announced it is "among the most punctual" based on data from the first six months of 2023.

The Punctuality League ranking by OAG is ascertained by analysing the number flights landing within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival or departure times.

In H1 2023, Etihad achieved an 83.4% on-time arrival performance (OTP), and OAG has described Etihad as "one of the Middle East airlines that consistently operates above 80% on-time arrival performance while maintaining one of the lowest cancellation rates worldwide".

Etihad Airways chief operating officer Mohammad Al Bulooki said: “This half year result is an important milestone for Etihad Airways, and a testament to the airline’s commitment to consistently deliver reliable operations.

"Four million passengers will fly with Etihad over the summer months via Abu Dhabi International Airport, a strong partner that underpins the airline’s successful operations, and guests can expect a reliable flight schedule coupled with an award-winning service.”

Last year, Etihad ranked as the top airline in the Punctuality League.

Analysing the full year of flight data from 1 January to 31 December 2022, the OAG Punctuality League report showed Etihad beat Emirates by .01% last year. In H1 2023, could Emirates have moved into the top slot?
