New destination includes hands-on workshops and interactive displays
Jumeirah, Dubai Holding’s luxury hospitality brand, has launched Jumeirah Eco Village, a new sustainability experience for guests. Located within Madinat Jumeirah, this interactive destination showcases the group’s environmental initiatives through a series of exhibits and workshops.
Designed as a multisensory journey, the Eco Village features immersive installations that engage visitors through sight, sound and touch. The tour begins outdoors, where guests can discover a homegrown beehive and a hydroponic farm, underscoring the importance of pollination, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture practices.
Marine conservation is another central aspect of the Eco Village, with displays spotlighting the Jumeirah’s coral restoration programme and Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP), which has rescued more than 2,320 turtles in the Arabian Gulf since its launch in 2004.

A hands-on plastic-repurposing workshop further reinforces Jumeirah’s sustainability mission, demonstrating how waste can be transformed into functional everyday items such as pins, keychains and more. The workshop is part of the Jumeirah Recycle Hub, in partnership with Midori Network, a climate tech start-up based in the UAE.
Commenting on the programme, Thomas B Meier, Jumeirah’s CEO, said: “[Jumeirah Eco Village] reflects our ambition to drive meaningful, measurable impact across our People, Planet and Governance pillars as outlined in our broader sustainability strategy, while providing a space to demonstrate, engage and educate.
“Through this experience, we aim to inspire guests, colleagues and the wider community to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives.”
The launch of the Eco Village coincided with the release of the trailer for the latest episode of Jumeirah’s docuseries, Where Worlds Meet, which highlights key brand personnel and provides insight into the group’s operations. The new episode features Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, ambassador of the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project, who says he is "extremely thankful to Jumeirah" for the opportunity to make a difference.
Jumeirah Group continues to expand its sustainability initiatives, recently partnering with Ocean Generation, an environmental charity, to expand marine education in UAE schools. The programme was introduced across five Dubai institutions, offering students accessible learning opportunities in oceanography.
