Ticket pricing and aircraft allocation are part of its revamp

Kuwait Airways has introduced a raft of changes in a bid to become more competitive in the aviation sector.

The airline said the adjustments reflect the board of directors’ commitment to advancing the national carrier and improving its passenger services.

Chairman Abdul Mohsen Al Faqan said the airline was enhancing the overall travel experience for its passengers.

Recent upgrades have included luxury amenities, improved entertainment options and a focus on increasing onboard comfort.

The airline has allocated widebody aircraft to high-demand routes, updated its menu with distinctive Kuwaiti dishes and maintained on-time services during the busy summer season.

Al Faqan announced new offerings, such as special travel packages to Barcelona that include a flight ticket, hotel stay and a ticket to a Spanish League soccer match.

He said Kuwait Airways was considering expanding its network to new destinations, including Moscow, various locations in China and East Asia and several European countries.

This expansion is planned in conjunction with the opening of a new T2 passenger terminal and the addition of new aircraft to the fleet.

The airline is also preparing to introduce a self-service baggage weighing system, allowing travellers to weigh their luggage up to 12 hours before departure.

Baggage allowances have been adjusted with economy class passengers permitted two pieces of 23kgs each, business class passengers two pieces of 32kgs each, and first-class or royal-class passengers three pieces of 32kgs each.
