London Heathrow reopens VIP terminal

Emirates and Etihad first and business class passengers among top users

London Heathrow Airport has reopened its private VIP terminal following a US$3.7 million refit, with the exclusive service available to first and business class passengers from all airlines.

Previously known as The Windsor Suite, it was popular with Emirates and Etihad passengers, with Dubai, Doha and Riyadh among the top five routes.

Located at Terminal 5, and rebranded as The Windsor by Heathrow, it is available once again for departures, connections and arrivals, serving around 50,000 passengers each year.

Guests are collected by chauffeur from London (or anywhere in the UK for an additional fee) and delivered to a private suite at The Windsor while staff take care of baggage and immigration.

Available for up to three passengers and two invited guests, each suite is manned by a butler and there’s an exclusive menu designed by chef Jason Atherton, who has restaurants in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York, Sydney and Dubai (the two Michelin-starred Row on 45 at Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Dubai).

Security procedures are conducted within the suite, and when the flight is ready, guests are driven straight to the aircraft, with early boarding available at the airline’s discretion.

A similar service is available for arrivals and connecting passengers.

For arrivals, a member of The Windsor by Heathrow team greets guests and takes them directly to the lounge by luxury car, while their baggage is collected separately. Guests can enjoy refreshments or dine in the lounge while waiting for immigration formalities and their luggage. They are then driven directly to their final destination.

The VIP service costs £3,812 (US$4,750) for up to three people.
