Mandarin Oriental, Muscat hotel spa now open

Locally inspired treatments include sand-bathing

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Muscat is now open, featuring eight treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite, with sea views.

The spa benefits from an exclusive partnership with acclaimed French brand Biologique Recherche and offers two ‘Essence of Muscat’ rituals "inspired by ancient Eastern philosophy and Omani healing traditions" that are unique to the hotel.

The ‘Rose Quartz Ritual’ is a time-honoured therapy of sand bathing, combined with sound-healing and massage using Damask rose-infused oil from Jabal Al Akhdar, the Green Mountain.

Drawing inspiration from Oman’s flora, the ‘Mountain Restoration’ ritual draws on the restorative power of roses, pomegranates and Omani frankincense.

At the heart of the spa is a hammam decorated with mosaics. Other facilities include a sauna, a steam room, a relaxation terrace and outdoor pools.

The accompanying fitness centre is home to state-of-the-art equipment, and body analysis and training is offered for guests all fitness levels.
