Leyja will expand the kingdom's ecotourism offering

NEOM, the sustainable regional development taking shape in northwest Saudi Arabia, has shared details of the area's latest tourism destination, Leyja.

The area of Leyja starts from the Gulf of Aqaba coast and winds inland to form a natural valley carved between 400-metre-high mountains.

Aligned with NEOM’s strategy to designate the majority of its land across its destinations and cities as a nature reserve, 95% of Leyja will be preserved for nature and feature innovative, ecological design and construction techniques to ensure the development seamlessly blends into the landscape.

Leyja will have three hotels, offering 120 rooms and suites, designed by world-leading architects to complement the surroundings and operate sustainably.

The first hotel will be tailor-made for active adventure, the second will rise from the rock to sit prominently at the heart of the wadi’s largest oasis and the third will be an immersive wellness retreat that promotes longevity, with a high-tech, reflective façade mirroring the surrounding beauty and valley walls.

Once developed, Leyja will offer an extensive selection of experiences, including fine dining at contemporary restaurants helmed by world-renowned chefs.

Leyja is NEOM’s latest development and follows the announcement of luxury island Sindalah; THE LINE, a cognitive linear city, and Trojena, the first outdoor ski experience in the GCC.
